Italy Tour – From Vesuvius to Etna
16-day road trip through Southern Italy & Sicily
This tour takes you through the south of Italy all the way to Sicily, from volcano to volcano. You stay in just four hotels, three to four nights each, which leaves plenty of time for excursions. From the Sorrento coast you visit Vesuvius, Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri. In Puglia you discover the trulli of Alberobello, the white town of Ostuni, Locorotondo and the cave town of Matera. In Tropea on the Calabrian coast you enjoy the famous tartufo ice cream from Pizzo. A ferry takes you to Sicily, to Taormina with its ancient theatre, to Mount Etna and to Syracuse. The trip is available in your own car or as a fly-drive with a hire car.

Can I fly instead of driving there?
Yes. We are happy to book your flight and hire car, for example flying into Naples and back from Catania.
How do I get to Sicily?
By car ferry from Villa San Giovanni to Messina. It runs frequently and takes only about 20 minutes. You buy the ticket on the spot.
Will I have to drive a lot?
You change hotels on only four days. On the other days you make excursions in the area or simply leave the car where it is.
