A casa particular is a privately run guesthouse, similar to a bed and breakfast, often in an old colonial villa with high ceilings and a green courtyard. Your hosts welcome you warmly and are happy to give you tips for the city. From here you explore the old town on foot, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: Plaza Vieja, Calle Obispo, the cathedral and the Malecón by the sea. In the evening, Cuban rhythms drift out of the bars.
