Hallertau Cycling Tour – The Short Circuit
5 days on the Holledau Hop Trail – ideal for a long weekend
Short on time but keen to see the Hallertau? This short circuit takes you into the heart of the world's largest hop-growing region in five days. You cycle to the German Hop Museum in Wolnzach, past the Hüll hop research centre and along the Bockerl cycle path with views across the hop gardens. On the way back, the Kuchlbauer Tower in Abensberg is well worth a stop. On the last cycling day you follow the Danube to Kelheim, through the Danube Gorge to Weltenburg Abbey. Afterwards you relax in the Limes thermal spa, which you can reach from the hotel in your bathrobe. Your luggage is transferred for you. In 2025 this concept won the Golden Pedal award of ADFC Bavaria, the Bavarian cycling association.

How does it differ from the classic circuit?
The short circuit takes 5 instead of 8 days and has slightly longer stages. The highlights are the same: the Hop Museum, Weltenburg Abbey and the Limes thermal spa.
Do I need an e-bike?
Not necessarily, but with stages of up to 66 kilometres an e-bike is pleasant. You are welcome to add bikes or e-bikes to your booking.
Where can I park my car?
Parking at Hotel Centurio is limited, so please let us know early. Alternatively, there is a multi-storey car park about 120 metres away.
